Five Dead in Suicide Plane Crash

Five people died when a plane crash into a shopping center in Melbourne, Australia.  The 63-year Australian pilot Max Quartermain and the four American tourists were killed shortly after the plane took off. Police are investigating it as a possible case of pilot suicide, connected with the outgoing investigation of the activities of his charter company Corporate and Leisure Aviation. Max Quartermain was facing possible suspension of his license connected with another accident of “near collision” he had in September 2015.

The crash happened in the early hours of Tuesday (21 February) morning before opening hours of the shopping center, thus avoiding more casualties. According to the authorities, it was the worst plane crash in state of Victoria for the last 30 years.
